There's no better place to know all about Oscar Awards 2010 than it's official website. The Academy Awards website has it all - nominations, winners, thank you speeches, red carpet and backstage exclusive, photos and videos. I loved that they have included the text as well as videos of the acceptance speeches! Pretty comprehensive stuff!

The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow will never forget her most precious Women's Day gift - The Oscar Award for directing.
She has become the first female to be honored with the Best Director title at the Academy Awards. For time to follow, whenever another female will win Academy Award for best direction, Kathryn Bigelow's name would be remembered to be the first female winner.The way it has been for the first females in every field, be it flying or presiding a nation.

Smile Pinky - Oscar - Best Short Documentary
Smile Pinky Wins Oscar for Best Short Documentary - myPOPKORN: "Made in India documentary film ‘Smile Pinky' won an Oscar at the 81st Academy Award ceremony held in Los Angeles on February 22.
The film, nominated along with four others, stood victorious in the best short documentary category.
The 39-minute documentary is directed by American director Megan Mylan."

A R Rahman won 2 Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire - Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song. Congratulations and Jai Ho Rahman!
Whenever an Indian / Indian movie gets nominated for the coveted Oscar Awards, there's enough anticipation - will we get it or not. But this once, everyone was sure that Rahman will make it! And with two statuettes, he has made us all confident for the next Oscars. The inspiration and example that he has set is beyond description. Somehow each one of us, especially in the film industry, is dreaming -"One day I want to win an Oscar and make my country proud"!
I just wish I could meet Rahman in person and congratulate him. Best I can do is use this blogging platform to say "Congratulations Rahman"!

Taare Zameen Par Movie - Out of Oscar Race
Taare Zameen Par (TZP), the much acclaimed Indian movie, is out of Oscar race. TZP couldn't make it to the top nine in foreign language film category of the 81st Academy Awards.
The movie is indeed very nice, but at an international level, I didn't see it winning. Well, hope to see some other Indian movie win some other time. Until now, let's celebrate the fact that the movie being qualified at the Oscars and the glory of A R Rehman's achievement at Golden Globe!
